We are getting closer. I am happy to let you know that www.rstar.net has been updated and ready to go. Here is where you can go often to find out my latest musings and happenings with everything going on. It will be a central place to get the latest so I hope to see all of you there.
I can’t wait for you to hear the new music and to see you on the road!
Ryan posted about this on his myspace, and I just got the press release via email about it today. Check out Christabelle’s Closet where you can bid on items from Ryan’s wardrobe, and all proceeds go to charity (Greenpeace). This isn’t the first time I’ve heard about this site; quite a few big celebrities are auctioning off their goods here and the owner is actually a friend of Ryan’s.
For everyone who is new to Ryan Star and even the old fans, this is a great promo video by his friend Randy (aka Mr Stachus) which gives a little insight to Ryan Star and his music.
Big updates on Ryan’s myspace today! Check out his photos; he has three new galleries including his snowboarding in Aspen, bowling birthday party and more of the photos above that were taken by Randy Scott Slavin.
And he even took time out on his birthday to leave this blog for us:
Happy New Year to all. This is it… 2008. Sounds so futuristic, I
know, but just picture in two years when we are all writing 2010. I
can see it now riding on our solar powered jet packs and
communicating telepathically. Please share with us how you spent
your New Year’s when you finish reading this, but for now I have the
conch so I will speak.
I had a life changing trip to the mountains of Colorado. For those
of you who don’t know I have been snowboarding since I was a kid and
it is by far one of my favorite things in life. The whole experience
is quite spiritual. Although it was a chilling -20 degrees I had the
best time. I know a New Year’s is a good one when I am in bed
sleeping at 12:15 am from exhaustion.
I always take my camera everywhere for you guys, so I posted some of
the photos for you to see. Just know that every time I thought of
the blog, I had to take my gloves off in sub zero weather and risk
never playing the guitar again for a good shot. All worth it.
There was one day where I hiked up 40 minutes past where the lift
lets you off to the peak of the mountain. From here you can ski down
fresh, ungroomed terrain with no one around for miles. I learned an
interesting little lesson that I will share with you. After deciding
to hike up all the way on the narrow hike next to cliffs to nowhere
and putting all the work and energy into getting to the top I found
that the final ascent was closed off. For whatever reason the
mountain had issued a safety violation and wouldn’t let you go the final
hundred yards to the peak. I sat for a bit and took in the view
while catching my breath. Took some photos and was just psyching
myself up to go. Right as I was strapped in and was ready to go a
ski patrol announced he was going to open up the peak. I was so
psyched to get up higher and to the top. On the final hike up I
realized that with all the preparation of the day and all the hard
work to get up there so much of it still came down to timing and a
bit of luck. With this said, I couldn’t just sit on my ass by the
fireplace and hope to get lucky. I did have to get up there and put
the effort in, expecting to go all the way, but in the end it truly was
beyond what I alone was able to do to make it all possible. I have
worked hard since I was 14 getting myself closer to the dream and
through my next few months I rely just as much on the people who
support me with their good thoughts and effort to get me to where I
want to be. All that and a little luck too.
Happy New Year to all of you and let it be your best one yet.
My New Year starts today for it is my birthday. Thank you all for
your kind wishes.
Talk soon,
~ryan
And lastly, check out this clip from Ryan’s secret show in NYC. Looks like it was great.
Things have been silent on Ryan’s myspace for a little while, but today he wrote a blog about the release of “Last Train Home”:
Hey everyone.
The song is out and I hope you all download it from itunes and write a great review so we get the word out about me. This is the first taste of music from me that you have heard in a long time so it is a big deal for me that it is here. Hopefully it is the first of many soundtracks that I will be a part of. I am finishing up loose ends for the real release but in the meantime enjoy and thank you. Let me know your thoughts.
Ps. Sign up for the mobile mailing list because very soon I am going to be doing something special.
text the word RYAN to 50505.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, be sure to get it off of iTunes. Me and Tiff are both loving it!
I have been reacquainting myself with my city, New York. It is that time of year when I am waxing my snowboard because I can feel the chill in the air calling us to the mountains for some soul cleansing. I have also been itching to play some new music for all of you. In the weeks to come, I definitely want to get out and play for some very cozy crowds. I found this cool little thing to make it happen. Be the first to sign up for my mobile fanclub. You, being the early ones, will forever be noted and I will most definitely do some private shows for you for being on the list. Even when I start touring around for real I will find the time to escape the crowds and have some private performances in your town. There will be other exclusive events and updates, so take a second right now and check it out.

It is my favorite thing about playing music.

Catching up with my city for the week before I head back one more time for final touches and to add one more song to the album called Orphans.
I can’t wait to get on the road with all of this. It has been too long. Expect some new music on the site soon.
Besides all that there is a cool fansite I just did an interview for that you should all check out www.ryanstarfans.com
Other than all of that. Things are good. I still have a tan, I still can’t wait for all of you to hear the new music and I still am reading “The Fountainhead”. Very long book.

PS - I think I will go see the new amanda bynes movie tonight.
Many of you think I am kidding but what you don’t know is that in my book. She’s the man was one of the best movies of last year.
So here’s the deal, Ryan was nice enough to get into contact with Tiffany (care of his awesome photographer friend Zsolt) and is granting us an exclusive interview for RSF! We want to get you guys involved, so send your burning questions to kimberwynATgmailDOTcom. We’ll pick the best ones to include in the interview!
