If you’re like me and accidental missed Ryan’s CNN.com interview yesterday (the whole time I turned it on some guy was talking Iraq), don’t fret! Just watch it below:
I love logging on to twitter and seeing something that’s not only positive but Ryan related in the trending topics. Right now it’s chilling at the bottom of the list but we can get it higher. Just add the hashtag to the end of your tweet (be sure to have text in front of it or it might go straight to the spam folder).
ETA: #breathe4jobs ended up hitting the top 5 in the TT’s. Great job guys!
Actually, this is more of a video leak; the folks over at 96.9 Wink FM managed to find the video for “Breathe”. The video officially premieres tomorrow on CNN.com at 2pm EST. And Ryan also mentioned in his latest blog that he’ll sit down for an interview about the video first, and he’ll talk a bit more about Breathe4Jobs.com, a new website that will launch after the premiere tomorrow.
It’s really amazing to see Ryan use his music for such a great cause; it’s great how he’s tying the two together seamlessly. The video is powerful, goes with the song well and even makes the song more poignant. This is definitely my favorite of his videos so far!
I’ve posted a couple of times about the release date of Ryan’s album being pushed back, with most of the information coming from Amazon. Yesterday, he tweeted to a fan that his album will actually not be released until the new year:
So there you have it. As much as I DO want to hear the new album, I think Atlantic is waiting for a single to pick up on radio, which is a smart way of doing things.
Frequent friend of RSF Liza got the chance to check out Ryan’s concert at Zoeys Cafe in Ventura, CA last night, where he was the headlining act. Here’s a snippet of her review:
Ryan played 14 songs, I believe, and did a lot of songs outside of the norm, including “The Fairy Tale”, which I’m not sure he’s ever played live. It doesn’t exist on YouTube, that’s for sure. And it still won’t since he specifically asked us all not to put it up there. Sorry, peeps! He also did “Flag” in honor of 9-11, “You and Me”, “The One You Know”, and a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Everybody Knows”, as well as “Last Train Home” on piano, which I had only heard on guitar before.
She also got great quality audio/video of Ryan sing ing “You & Me” which is a track he seems to rarely perform (I think this is the only other video of it up on youtube).
Check out her whole review, as well as another pic, on her blog Water Cooler Convo.
Not the kind of news I want to be reporting, but it looks like Ryan’s album has been pushed back once again, from October to December 29th, according to Amazon.com. Right after Christmas seems like a weird time for an album to be released but of course getting it before the end of the year would be awesome!
My friend Liza was lucky enough to win tickets to see Ryan at the SLS Hotel yesterday, where his set list included Brand New Day, Right Now, Last Train Home, 11:59, Somebody’s Son, Breathe (and an impromptu rendition of “Barbie Girl”). She also said she spotted an 11:59 tattoo in the audience, wow! Here are a couple of videos she took:
I know, I know. I posted a topic like this just a couple of weeks ago, but according to Amazon.com Ryan’s album release has been pushed back another month and a half to Oct 28, 2009. Hopefully we’ll get word on what’s going on soon. I really hope this date sticks and we get the album before the end of the year!
In the meantime, check out the spiffy new RStar.net layout!
Thanks to Liza over at Water Cooler Convo for finding this gem! At his show in Oklahoma yesterday, Ryan put on an impromptu performance of David Cook’s “hit” song “Time of Your Life” (better known as ~*magic rainbows*~). Check it out below:
